The meeting was called to order by Jim Buhil at 8:04 AM

Present: Mike Singer, Marie King, Jim Buhil, Ron Bourquin, Tom Schloer, Mark Koller, Ryan

Crosby, and Dave O’Neill.

Absent: Ed Collova, Mary Smoliak, Deb Mlinar

Secretary’s Report: Reports submitted. Motion to approve by Mike, 2nd by Ron, motion

approved.

Treasurer’s Report: Marie reviewed treasurers report. Overview $500 approved to the Village of

Webster for fireworks, We will receive bill from Hopkins. Mark made motion to approve

seconded by Dave, motion approved.

Old Business:

Governors Opener: Chuck Anderson gave an overview - 180 people attended the VIP dinner, 86

at breakfast, 66 lunches. Hotels were full. LT Governor outfished the Governor. The Tribe provided

the Event Center and meal. There was a total of 60 volunteers for the event.

Participants, sponsors, and meals served all doubled from previous year


New Business:

• Summer Picnic Update: June 8th at White Tail Wilderness. Cost will be $11.25 per person

for either Brats; Burgers with potato salad, chips and cookies or 2 piece chicken with

potato salad, chips and cookies -2 drink tickets to be provided. Marie made a motion to

go with chicken, vote was unanimous for chicken and approved. Check in time at 11:00 -

Lunch at noon.

• Swag: Mark and Dave will pick up swag for sale at picnic, Marie will try to order more

shirts and hats for picnic.

• Water Level: Current level 929.94, Water clarity at 14 Ft

• New process for changing panfish limit was discussed. This will be presented at the

summer meeting and/or outlined in the Newsletter. It was recommended limit changes

from 25 to 15 total.


• Mark discussed the depth gauge at the bridge. He will talk to Dan Haumschild, Dan's son

could possibly design the gauge.

The next YLRA board membership meeting, June 8th, 2024 at the Whitetail Wilderness. Check

in at 11:00, Lunch at 12:00 noon.

Absent: Marie King, Ron Bourquin, Mary Smoliak, Ed Collova and Dave

O’Neill.

Secretary’s Report: Reports submitted. Motion to approve by Mike, 2nd by Mark, motion approved.

Treasurer’s Report: Marie is absent. We will table it until next month.

Old Business:

• Meat Raffle: We desperately need more people. People need to sign up

online. Deb will post on Face book and Mary will post on our website. We

will both post on some local group sights on Facebook. Deb volunteered

to help on St Patty’s weekend and Mary & Tom are working today.

• NO POWER LOADING signs are in. We have one for now from Burnett

County Lakes & Rivers Association. We can order more as needed.

New Business:

• Governor’s Fishing Opener- The link has been updated. Mark brought up

Porta-potties at the Boat Landings. Deb will ask Kevin Klucas if we have

funds for Porta-potties at each boat landing. We would like to see two at

each landing.

• We would also like a couple of people at each boat landing spraying boats

as they go in and out of the lake. In order to keep the line moving, we plan

to have two people do the spraying. Mark Koller volunteered to oversee

the landings. He will put together teams for each landing and keep them

stocked with bottles and bleach. He will need 8-10 people.

• Boat Landings- We are planning to start to clean up the landings early this

year, based on the warm weather. We will start with the Oakland (North)

Landing. It is in dire need of cleaning and repair. It is also seriously

shallow. We are trying to find out if the dam is going to let some water go,

as we were told on our Dam Tour last fall. That may be necessary in order

to use that landing.


The next YLRA board meeting is March 9, 2024, at the 10th Hole at 8:00am.

Treasurer’s Report: Marie is working on end of year, she will have the report ready for the next meeting.

We will table it until then.

Old Business:

• Meat Raffle: More people needed to sign up. Marie has someone for the next two weeks, but we

will need people for the next seven weeks. Deb will post on Face book and Mary will post on our

website.

• Newsletter: Deb has completed her articles and updates on the Governor’s Fishing Opener. We

are asking for more volunteers- they will be sent Deb’s direction. Mary is adding the Sponsorship

opportunity packet to the end of the newsletter. It contains so much information and gives families

and business’s an opportunity to be part of this historic event. Marie will then have it printed. We

will Mail and Publish it on the website in February.

• Mary set up PAYPAL payment online for YLRA Membership dues. Membership payments online

(new and renewals) now automatically deposit into the YLRA checking account on the 1st and 15th

of each month. She also set up “real-time” sign-up on our website for new members. People will

have the ability to fill out the form online and pay online, all in the click of a button! Thank you,

Mary!

• Jeffries Landing: There were 7 Violations that had to be investigated. Mary will post information

on the website later in the spring. We will also gather more information on all the violations

reported trough the use of our camera system, as well as the amount of traffic each Boat Launch

sees per month and year. This information will come out after the Fishing Opener.

New Business:

• Governor’s Fishing Opener- Discussed what is going to happen with Boat Hosts. Boat Hosts will

be treated like the VIP’s~ they will be invited to the VIP dinner on Friday night to meet their fishing

guests, as well as partake in all of the VIP weekend perks like breakfast & lunch included, swag

bags, games and tours. Mary & Boone Docks Marine volunteered to be a VIP fishing opener host

with 4 or more pontoons. Deb & Blake Also Volunteered a Pontoon on the lake as a Host Boat.

We will need at lease 20 Boats, preferably pontoons.

• Sponsorship levels were discussed, including the costs and benefits. We decided to be a full

Sponsor at the Walleye Level. Mary made a motion to spend $1500 on the Sponsorship, Mike 2nd,

motion passed.

• Swag Bag Items for the Swag Bags given to all the VIP’s at the VIP Dinner. We will add a YLRA

floatie keychain, a can koozie, and a business card. We will need at least 200 of each. W are

also ordering Wind shirt pullovers for all of the Boat Hosts to wear for the event. Mary made a

motion that we are able to spend up to ,but not over, $5,000 on promotional items for the event.

Mark 2nd, the motion passed.


• The next YLRA board meeting is February 11, 2023 at the 10th Hole at 8:00 am.
